Creating mobile game is good, but its really hard.

Unlike flash you dont worry much on the heavyness of the game,

in mobile creating 2d with spritesheet, will take a lots of memory if you only have 3 characters with 3 different animations. lol

I really miss creating great game in flash. really really miss it

"in mobile creating 2d with spritesheet, will take a lots of memory if you only have 3 characters with 3 different animations. lol" I would suggest not using frame by frame animation and creating separate body parts for characters and moving those

Everything is slow because everything is processed by CPU only.  In order to trigger GPU calculation to render graphics while the CPU is doing side calculation, you need to make this same GPU believe that it is processing 3D objects, because apparently it was intended for this purpose.

Did you tried 'Starling' ? They made Angry birds using this technology, you can have like a TON of calculation and it's still fluid . Ben Olding (djStatika on FGL), introduced me to this technology . Apparently, like all knowledge, need a bit of reading and practice, but you can still port with AIR still working in flash.

Beside this, just don't export full heavy 32 bits with 2 milllions color in it . Optimize it a lot through Photoshop or other online software . Most of the time, your sprites might looks like shit when optimized, you just need a good artist who knows how to make great stuff using a limitied color palette, believe me, they do exists.

Another great tool (used in combination with Starling) is GAF studio. I used in for one of my own games (Yes, I make my own games :) )

Here's how it looks like

But, indeed, the thing I miss from Flash is that during those golden days we could draw an object and make it live at once with a code. The step of art exposting wsa not needed.

Dayum, I miss making games in Phaser, and when I was making Phaser games, I missed Flash! Now I'm making games in Unity.

Wish I could still monetize small puzzlers. Those were the days.
