btw..this was a tounge in cheek question based on a few discussions I've had recently with other developers. I was hoping they would log in and chime in. lol..

I heard if you have 5 million installs you make $2K/day, so proportionally that makes just under 1 million to make $10K/month, of course that varies from app to app :P

Yeah, i guess one million download does not garantee such a revenue , depending if players are still hooked on your game after 2 days or not . There is probably a way to access a 'download farm' just as a 'like farm', for example if you pay for facebook ad or something else, and reach a decent amount of download, still the downloaders may never even open the app.

It took me approximately 612K installs to make 10K! (Google Play + iOS, just from ads). And 12K installs a day = $100-$170 a day for me

Is this from ur 1 app or all ur apps combined??

All of them combined, but just a few of them made those money, the rest generated almost nothing.

I have never paid anything to promote my games. I have my own website for promoting them + using my own cross-promotion system that I have in all my games.

How did you manage to get installs? I mean except the cross-promotion? Do you do something else? I am asking, because I am trying to get some installs for my apps without investing in an ad campaign.

Well I didn't do much except promoting it on my site (littlebigplay.com, facebook, twitter) and cross-promo. I think it's very important to choose the right genre of the game that will cover as biggest group of audience as possible. + You need some luck. For example my newest game is getting hardly any downloads, but it's because the genre of that game is not such popular as the other ones (but I believe it will find its audience after some time)
