In a need for a better swipe

The standard Flash AIR swipe method is not sensitive enough. At the moment I am coding around it but it seems that the  touch is far more sensitive in the X Axis than in the Y axis. The code probably can be fine tuned to work as it should but it still very messy.

If there was a simple listener or method that would do this, and allow for sensitivity control or is pre fine tuned it would be a blessing.

Do you guys know if such a thing exists?

addEventListener(TransformGestureEvent.GESTURE_SWIPE, onSwipe);

private function onSwipe(e:TransformGestureEvent):void
{
if (e.offsetX == 1)
{
//User swiped towards right

}
if (e.offsetX == -1)
{
//User swiped towards left

}
if (e.offsetY == 1)
{
//User swiped towards bottom

}

}

This is the event that i was using - and i didn't had any problems with it

That's the standard swipe method.
For some games it was okay, but for some is not sensitive enough . It needs for your finger to make too big of a line in order to detect it.

Isn't there a simple way with which you can control the sensitivity?

As I said before I tried a pretty complex one with Touch points but it's pain in the ass and I still can't make it perfectly, because the sensitivity on the X axis is simply bigger than on the Y axis
