Fgl sdk freezing

Occasionally I have a problem with what looks like the game freezing due to the fgl sdk either not receiving the logo picture link or it not receiving the actual logo picture (not sure which).  I know the rest of the game is working fine because this only happens after the fgl sdk game testing screen has shown up and is answered.  After this screen the game goes directly to the main menu which has all the graphics already in the game.  When I do not click "show sponsor branding" the game continues on as normal and other fgl sdk functions (such as the more games function) works fine.

This does not happen all the time but just occasionally.  I am using Game Maker Studio.  The branding logo function might need to be changed to an async function where the game continues until the needed information is received (and the picture has been downloaded) at which point the picture is loaded into the sprite.

Does anyone know of a work around for this.
