I am just learning about Canvas for flash 6, i want to make a html5 website, highly animated!

Anyone have an experiance with this and want to bounce some ideas off eachother?  I think this area of web design has been looked over.  I wana merge a website and a game into some type of new awesomeness.

nice idea, keep in mind, you need at least 4CPU 8cores each to use HTML5 with some animations ;)

even small javascript animatons in some browsers are killing flash performance.

JJ, you dont really need to use Canvas to make a html5 website :) just use some nice jquery stuff and some new css animating techniques. You could use canvas for the game part of the website.. just keep passin variables.

I think I saw a 52 card game simulator that works for multiplayer.

There was a cool site i saw for i think Costa Coffee, wasn't really a game, but could have easily added game input. I wanted our site to have the same style as that :) Just need time to do it.

Example: http://www.costa.co.uk/experience/

I'd suggest adding a way to skip the 'fight' at the start and go straight to your portfolio :)

The creative paradox!

Give the people what they want vs give them something new.  Both are equally true and false at the same time.  That's the problem with any UX that's different or unexpected (not just boniatillo's site).

I'd suggest user testing.  Split it into skippable "fight" vs non-skippable "fight", test with a group of 1,000+ users to each and assign a consistent objective to their visits.  Which route was more successful?  Always be testing.

Yes, it is a paradox, but you know, I have a main job where I have to implement the idea's of someone else almost all the time. I really feel chained, so in my own profile I would like to be free.

b10b, I do not have 1000+ going to my site hehe. In any case, both you guys gave me a great idea, as FGL_Dave said, I will implement a way to bypass me (the fighter), maybe I will add a button with a message "let Maria to finish him!" (Maria is my wife haha), or just a simple bomb.

Why even make a website?  Why not make a HTML5 game and have that as the entry point and full content of your visitors' cool and unique experience?

Counter argument: because a website is a take-out menu, not an eat-in restaurant.

HTML5 games could be done about a lot of ways. Flash is not really the best way to do it, but to learn, maybe.

I worked for a few companys as frontend developer and had to use a lot of CSS ans JS to do some "cool" effects for the users. Not just only in games.

For HTML5 games I work with pure JS, jQuery or Phaser. I tried CreateJS too, but Phaser is more likely for me.

If you want to use it for your game / website there are a lot of good tutorials. But maybe you should learn the deepness of JS before you start to use a JS-Framework.

Learn how the different ways of defining a function could be used and what scope, you have at which point. To learn how you should use callbacks or direct functions, could help to save a lot of time.

If you done this, you can use JS in NodeJS for Multiplayer-Games, too.

Learn Javascript as it will help in using frameworks.
