I'll eventually want to make retro / 8-bit games, but I'll need music and sound effects that fit the genre. Does anyone knows of chiptune composers for hire you would recommend?

I know a few of us here can compose chiptune pieces. There was one that used actual chips instead of software, if you care about that sort of thing.

Dave (Ultima) is quite good. I'm not chopped liver either (although I do enjoy pâté from time to time). As I mentioned there are others here who are pretty good as well.

Find who fits your vision the best and/or price shop. Careful with low balling though, the whole "get what you pay for" rule can apply.

At first I wanted to have music in .nsf format (actual nes music) but turns out the code I found to play the modules doesn't work in Android, so I don't mind what's used to compose the music anymore as long as it sounds good to me.

I did found chipmusic.org, which seems like a pretty good place for all things chiptunes related. So if anyone looking for 8-bit music is reading this, that's a good place to start,

Ultima: I'll PM you asap =)

Quite interesting. I know it may sound a little dumb, but what genre of music is this?. I was really unable to categorize it.
