I remember when I was doing clerical jobs, we were allowed in the office to play music while working. It's weird that now I that don't have any boss, I don't feel like listening to any music or radio. TV's turned on though although it feels like a distraction.

I usually listen to some games' OST. Keeps my subconscious busy while I focus on work. With more difficult tasks though I turn it off as it starts to be too distracting.
Also found this site http://musicforprogramming.net/ which has some nice mixes, but some of them are down right annoying.

I listen to NPR while I'm working (or basically doing anything...).  I'm a bit sad the Talk of the Nation is ending today :(.

I work in complete silence i dont like to have any distractions while i work.

But if i am in the zone doing something that needs a little push for motivation i listen to:

kohina.com  : Old school 8-bit and 16-bit game and demo music in MP3 streaming format. C64, MSX, Amiga, Atari ST, console and arcade classics.

AC/DC or some podcast, but I also turn it off if it gets distracting. That is all.

Im pretty much former metalhead that was disgusted with electronic music, but for quite few years already when working im listening to some pretty hard rave, industrial and noise/power noise because fast, loud, repetible - helps me to focus and enter some sort of hyperactivity mode where I can do much more in short time, but it leaves me extremely exhausted after just 2-3 hours.

I like me some Fitz & The Tantrums, Florence & The Machine, and pretty much anything with ampersands in the name.

When drawing, painting and creating art assets, I used to listen to carefully selected hollywood movies OSTs to reinforce atmosphere and immerse myself. My recent playlists include Constantine, Legion, and even Resident Evil 3 youtube walkthroughs. Hehe, at this point I think it's pretty obvious what kind of game I'm working on :) Btw, speaking of immersion, AudioJungle has tons of quality music available, and full-length previews are free to listen and download. I've already gathered a huge library of their tracks.

During coding and problem solving times I prefer no music at all.

I've always listened to Marvin Gaye while coding. Some of his songs are good for working out too.

If I don't have something auditory going on, preferably music, I can't concentrate.  My mind will be too focused on what music I wish I was listening to to do anything else.

Lately I've been listening to just about anything with a prominent cello part.  Lately I've been listening to "Elgar & Cater Cello Concertos" by Alisa Weilerstein quite a bit.

For some reason, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCRae5mRoRE the past couple of days. Usually I just have my iTunes on shuffle, with many old artists. Sometimes music distracts me but still, I like working with it.
